TEAM ECHO

TEAM ECHO is the Joe Team designated Mountain Operational Detachment. This detachment maintains a high level of proficiency in mountaineering operations which include leading untrained and indigenous forces over mountainous terrain, the use of pack animals, cold-weather medical evacuation techniques, weather forecasting, belaying techniques, constructing improvised climbing equipment, avalanche rescue, snowpack analysis and winter-guiding techniques.  TEAM ECHO members are graduates of Basic Military Mountaineer, Advanced Military Mountaineer (Summer), and Advanced Military Mountaineer (Winter) Courses at the Army Mountain Warfare School at the Camp Ethan Allen Training Site in Jericho, Vermont and the Summer and Winter Mountain Leaders Course at the USMC Mountain Warfare Training Center in Pickel Meadow, California.
