TEAM ALPHA

TEAM ALPHA is the best of the best of the Joe Team Operational Detachments.

It is the all purpose "ruck" unit for Unconventional Warfare, Special Reconnaissance, Direct Action, Counter-Terrorism, Foreign Internal Defense, and Hostage Rescue missions.   The majority of Alpha Team's operators are original members of the Joe Team.  As such, TEAM ALPHA members are regarded as senior advisors to the rest of the G.I. Joe detachments.  It is not unusual to find TEAM ALPHA members serving as alternates on Alpha and Bravo Operational Detachments for any given mission.

TEAM ALPHA members of top of class graduates of Special Operations Preparation Course (SOPC), Special Forces Assessment and Selection (SFAS), Special Forces Qualification Course (SFQC), Special Forces Combat Diver Qualification Course, Special Forces Advanced Urban Combat (SFAUC), Special Forces Master Mountaineering Course, and Live Environment Training (LET). Most unit members have completed Airborne School, Northern Warfare Training Center, Jungle Warfare Training Center, Combat Diving School, Mountain Warfare School, Small Unit Ranger Tactics (SURT), and Military Free Fall Advanced Tactical Infiltration Course (ATIC).
