TEAM CHARLIE

TEAM CHARLIE is the Joe Team Operational Detachment deployed for missions in cold, snow-covered environments. This unit has advanced training in arctic warfare and survival; experts in the effects of cold on personnel and materiel, use of basic cold weather clothing and equipment, winter field craft, snowshoe/ski techniques, and winter/cold regions navigation and route planning. This detachment also has knowledge/skills required to successfully conduct small unit operations in typical, mountainous terrain.  TEAM CHARLIE members are graduates of the Cold Weather Orientation, Cold Weather Leaders, Basic Military Mountaineering, and Cold Weather Indoctrination Courses at the Northern Warfare Training Center in Black Rapids, Alaska.

TEAM CHARLIE is equipped with a number of cold weather terrain vehicles that includes  the POLAR BATTLE BEAR skimobile, SNOW CAT assault half-track transport, the rugged twin-tire ARCTIC BLAST, AVALANCHE snow tank, and ICE SABRE armored skimobile.
