NIGHT FORCE
TEAM NOVEMBER (code name NIGHT FORCE) is the Joe Team Long Range Surveillance (LRS) Operational Detachment deployed for clandestine missions within enemy territory. This unit infiltrates deep behind enemy lines and provides continuous surveillance and special reconnaissance of intelligence targets. In addition, NIGHT FORCE serves as traditional pathfinders clearing drop and landing zones. Finally, NIGHT FORCE is assigned a Joint Terminal Attack Controller (JTAC) or Forward Air Controller (FAC) that allows the team to coordinate airstrikes from foward positions on the battlefield. NIGHT FORCE unit members are graduates of the Army Reconnaissance Course (ARC) and Reconnaissance and Surveillance Leaders Course (RSLC) at Fort Benning, Georgia.
NIGHT FORCE is occasionally deployed with or supported by combat craft designed for low-light missions. These include NIGHT BLASTER forward artillery/reconnaissance emplacement, NIGHT RAIDER tracked tank, NIGHT SHADE reconnaissance craft., NIGHT STORM mobile laser cannon, NIGHT STRIKER hovercraft, NIGHT RAY hydrofoil, and NIGHT SCRAMBLER armored personnel carrier. The NIGHT BOOMER combat jet is piloted by Air Force Captain Jocelyn De La Vega (code name FREESTYLE) of the G.I. Joe Special Operations Squadron.
